Did Abdominal Scarring affect your vaginal birth?
Hello! I am 28 weeks pregnant now and just came out of a OBGYN appointment where they heavily pushed me having a c-section.
I have child already who is 3.5. I had a c-section with him because he was breech. I also have a long scar across my lower abdomen below my belly button from a surgery I had when I was a baby.
Before today they have been telling me a VBAC is possible shouldn’t be an issue if baby is head down.
My doctor mentioned that he’d like to put a c-section on the books for when I’m 39 weeks pregnant because the baby is breech (at least he was 3 weeks ago). He also mentioned that because of my lower abdominal scar it’ll be harder for me to have a VBAC? I hadn’t heard this before today. He said it complicates or can make delivery difficult.
Does anyone have experience with this? I tried googling but didn’t come up with much about this. This doctors office has a history of pushing c-sections so that could be it, but I want to know if my previous surgery from 27 years ago when I was an infant, really might affect a VBAC for myself. I really want to try for a VBAC but after that appointment I now feel discouraged :/
