Is anyone else scared of catching feelings for someone as things never work out?

Every time I get close to a guy, and I think it’s going well, EVERY TIME they meet someone else or there’s someone they like better

It’s really starting to get to me now, I’ve never been a guys first choice. I’m not ugly or anything and I’m friendly and not at all clingy.

Like I got close to my ex house mate earlier this year, he kissed me a few times and then moved away. He’s coming back in a feee months and the girl who he dated casually is also coming. I hate the feeling cause she’s so much more pretty than me and it’s always the same thing happening :(
