Has anyone had a successful foley ballon induction?

Question

Just curious if anyone has had a successful foley ballon induction that DID NOT require additional medications (Pitocin). 
Basically I’m trying to figure out if its possible to avoided Pitocin after a foley ballon or if they are usually/ always used together?
Im scheduled for foley ballon next Tuesday. After that Im going home for 24 hours but then have hospital induction scheduled for the next day. I’ll be 41 + 3 on foley ballon day.

Yes, it was mildly uncomfortable getting it out in, but not painful. Needed a few cervix softening pills but then things really started and didn't need pitocin. Needed pitocin with my oldest as my water had broken and labor didn't really start enough

With my first induction, we started with the cervical ripening pill and the cook catheter balloon. Unfortunately, my water broke less than an hour later so they had to remove it before it could finish doing its job. I wasn't dilating past 3 cm for about 11hrs, so they had to start Pitocin. That labor was terrible & took 26 hrs. My body and mind were NOT ready (induced due to high BP), so i think that mafe everything worse.
With my 2nd induction, it was planned as an elective induction due to my high BP the last week of my first pregnancy (ended up being a good thing bc i developed preclampsia that week without any warning). We were going to start with the cook catheter balloon again and go home until the next morning, but as soon as it was in I was having contractions 2-3 min apart, so we ended up staying. Progressed the rest of the way on my own without needing any Pitocin! But i had been having contractions the entire day already, so i may have already started labor on my own before the induction. That induction took 10.5 hrs.

Foley balloon was quite helpful for me but I actually tried it once doctor realized Pitocin wasn’t working.  The pain was intense but it’s nothing compared to the final contractions so it’s tolerable. I started the balloon at no dilation and it fell off within three hours once I hit 4 centimeters. It definitely sped up the induction process. My tip would be to try and walk as much as possible, it’ll feel weird to walk with a fluid filled thing inside you but it won’t fall until you get dilated to the measurement. Always do your breathing exercises to keep your mind calm. I brought in a “peanut ball” to the room, I laid down with the ball between my legs and kept turning to my one side to another after a few minutes intervals. My husband found this advice online and amazingly it worked. If you are interested your hospital can provide you one but it’s always cheaper to buy your own to take. Best of luck!

I needed pitocin and eventually a csection after the balloon :/ every birth and body is different though. Work for the birth that you want and just go in as flexible as you can. Who knows how it will go!

I needed pitocin after my balloon. Also the balloon doesn't hurt for everyone, I barely felt mine.

I was 36+6(pre-eclampsia), started cervadil. Then did the foley. I dilated to 3 in less than an hour. I did not have pitocin during labor! My body took over from thsy point and I gave birth a few hours later. It's possible :) good luck to you !
