A boy I never dated

So you know those boys that you’re more than friends with but you never actually date or are in a relationship? I had one of those situations just over a year ago & I messed it up by not committing to how I was feeling because I was terrified of another relationship after my ex. A year on I’m still really upset about it, but he’s back with his ex & blocked me on everything. I was upset yesterday about him & one of my closest friends said “You’re still hung up on him?” & now I feel stupid for feeling how I do. Help!:(
