Talking ?

Any babies still not saying much? I’m starting to worry.

My son still isn’t saying any words. He mumbles mama dada when he is tired or upset but not on purpose. He grunts and babbles but that’s it. Doctors make you worry but he is so active and independent...not sure what to think

As long as your baby has some understanding of what you say and they point to communicate with you it’s still normal! My daughter was the same. Then last week she started speaking gibberish at us in a conversational way and has started replacing the gibberish with words. We were referred to a speech pathologist at our 18 month appt and when I called her she told us to wait until 21 months. All they do at this age is read, play and repeat repeat, same thing we do at home anyway. Does he babble or grunt? My daughter was a grunter and that is an indicator language is developing how it should.

Depends of your definition of 'much'. Mine says some words... but even yesterday i was reading an instagram post from shutthekaleup about how her son only started talking at 3y and yet he is now super social and have no problems
