Vaccine thoughts?

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well and all good thoughts for everyone’s journeys. 
What are your thoughts on getting the vaccine either during this process or in early pregnancy? I’m 6weeks, and was originally going to wait until my 2nd trimester but now I’m not sure 
No political comments please just trying to figure out the best thing to do☺️

The pregnancy guidelines and fertility guidelines all recommend getting the vaccine as pregnancy is considered high risk. There’s enough data (and I know because I work in the vaccine space) suggesting it is safe (no randomized trial but there are real world/post-hoc data). I’ve encouraged all my friends who are TTC or pregnant to get the vaccines as there aren’t major risks to pregnancy besides temperature which can be resolved with Tylenol. The actual vaccine ingredients cannot cause harm to the fetus and only stay in the body for a short period of time.  Happy to answer specific questions on the vaccines/how they work.

My clinic said not to do it during IVF, only because If you get any symptoms you couldn’t attend your appointments!

My doctor said not to get it if you’re pregnant. 
But I’ve heard other women who have taken it and they’re all well

Great post, so glad you brought this up. I was able to get vaccinated before moving forward with this cycle. I’m not sure what decision I would make during pregnancy but I do lean toward 2nd trimester- I know I’d get it from the research coming out now about passing vaccine immunity onto your baby in utero.  It’s so scary for us to think of us making any decision that can make things harder on us as IVF is already so hard.... I completely get that this is a really personal choice. I hate COVID. Remember eating in a restaurant? Those were the days....

My doctor said it was ok, I was gonna do second trimester back when I was thinking my first fet would work, but it didn’t.  I became eligible right after my chemical so I went on bc two weeks, got first shot, started next fet cycle, and got second shot a week in (while I was on estrogen but before starting pio).

Follow your doctors orders. Personally there isn’t enough research on TTC couples and pregnant women for me to feel comfortable. I’ve already had COVID & I’m believing God that I’ve built up my own immunity towards it

I personally am not getting it anytime soon, but that’s just my feelings towards its:) I’m not comfortable with it, not to mention I’m getting ready to transfer. If it’s successful, I still don’t plan on getting it. Just go with what you feel is right and whatever your Dr. recommended:)

I'm going to reconsider it on my 2nd T. See what data is available. They said the problem is if ud get a fever as it's very dangerous in early pregnancy.
 My husband thinks we should put if off till after but I did find its very encouraging in the news to see babies being born with antibodies which they think are down to pregnant mothers getting the vaccine

I’m in the middle of IVF injections but i was able to complete the two dose vaccine requirements. My IVF doctor recommended it and so did several nurses that I know. Thankfully, i had no serious side effects.
