Membrane sweep?

Due on the 9th. Ob offered to sweep my membranes when I go in Wednesday.. I’ve heard it hurts a lot. Pros and cons? And others experiences?

Lolol I tried getting one last week. It’s painful. I’ll probably ask my midwife to try again at this weeks appt because I want this baby out but ya, not a fan

I had one done last week and it really depends if your dilated and how low your cervix is if it hurts I think. I was 2cm 75%effaced it wasn't painful at all just uncomfortable but she didn't have to go up too far to get to my cervix. Didn't do anything for me though I'm still pregnant 39+5wks I lost my lost show and have been losing mucus plug since but nothing. Works for some though

It’s uncomfortable but I would say it’s painful. Started labor for my first pregnancy

I am also due on the 9th and I had a sweep done last week at my 38 week appointment. I didn’t have any success with mine. I’m assuming they will offer again at my apt this week. It was very painful but it did help my mucus plug come out but I still have not had any contractions or labor signs.

I had 3 before anything happened at 41 weeks so I wasn’t sure if it actually helped. Either way I would just go for it as you have nothing to loose, it can be uncomfortable but doesn’t last too long x

It hurts but only for like 30 seconds, in my experiences. & they worked for me. Went into labor with 48 hours both times.
