Anxiety and reacting to stress

Randi

I haven't officially been diagnosed with anxiety yet as I haven't seen a doctor for it (I will soon), but I am certain I have anxiety for a massive number of reasons. Anyway, I am able to stay calm and think perfectly clearly in insanely stressful situations (car accident, house flooding, child choking, etc) yet minorly stressful situations (child won't nap, too many dishes in the sink, nothing to cook for dinner, etc) can turn me into an anxious wreck; my son not sleeping well has given me anxiety attacks countless times. Is this an anxiety disorder thing? Minor things setting one off but major things making one think clearly and calmly? I can't figure out how to put it succinctly enough to Google it, thought maybe someone here might understand. TIA!
