I warned and warned and warned him again

My brother is essentially homeless. He stays at my house on the weekends because it’s closer to his second job, and he stays with a friend during the week because it’s close to his first job.

He left his pet snake here, and completely forgot about it. It was shedding and didn’t need food for a minute but then it finished shedding and needed to eat so I told him over and over again “you need to get your snake food. I don’t want him to turn into my responsibility because I know nothing about snakes and i have no business having one as my responsibility.”

Time goes by, he doesn’t get it food.

So I warned him ALOT MORE TIMES “you need to get this snake food or else I’m having my friend pick it up because she keeps snakes for pets.” And he literally doesn’t say anything. He’ll be standing right in front of me looking at his phone and I’ll be like “did you hear me?” And he’s like “yeah.” Like Jesus nobody cares about this snake I’m re-homing him. I don’t have the money to put him in a bigger aquarium and to get all he needs.

Y’all this is the second pet that he got when he was completely unable to take care of it, I have a cat because of him. So today I had my friend show up with food for the snake, and we fed the poor thing and she took it home and put him in a bigger aquarium with the proper bedding and things he needs.

My brother came over and was like “where’s the snake.” And I’m like “oh you mean the poor creature that you weren’t paying attention to or taking care of at all that would have starved to death had I not figured out what to do with it. Yeah my friend has it.”

Get this.

He doesn’t want it back though. He’s just mad I gave it away.

I don’t really like snakes but it’s still a living creature that deserves proper care and he wasn’t giving it that, and I gave him chance after chance. Eh. Get over it.

Another thing. Wood chips. Again I know nothing about snakes and my brother had him on wood chips and when my friend showed up she was like “why the hell does he have him on hamster bedding. That’s bad for his scales.” Like yeah I made the right choice poor snake
