How do you tell the difference between amniotic fluid leak and discharge?

I sometimes have gushes of watery discharge. How do I know if this is amniotic fluid or not? My doctor asked me if I was leaking amniotic fluid and I said no but now I’m wondering ?!

A lotttt of women can’t tell so I think it’s always best to go and just check.
In my case though I would always wake up from sleeping or napping and I would just feel a gush and it would go down my leg but it wasn’t clear it was always a little milky looking and amniotic fluid is clear not milky.
I’d still get checked just in case though!

If not sure, go and get tested.
But amniotic mostly keeps on coming. Like lie down for a while, stand up and if like that you have some every time, it might be amniotic.

Sometimes you can't tell and that's why so many women go to the hospital to make sure but it'll be clear and watery with no smell to it or a faint sweet smell
If it has a bit of white then it most likely isn't amniotic fluid it's probably just discharge
