Help please?

Question

My son ( 20 months) and my first is making life pretty stressful.. Hes beyond clever and his climbing ability is amazing.. But he's forever wrecking stuff or doing something he's not suppose to, and when I say no.. He screams loud.. For legit up to an hour, distracting him doesnt work either.. He wants what he wanted.
He can climb over tall gates, can unlock  door locks, even knows to turn the house keys in the door, can easily climb the fridge, and the counters cuz he likes messing with the sink, he's constantly doing something bad that I struggle to do anything other than run behind him..
Any tips please?

That’s rough! It’s ok for him to be mad though. Try validating his feelings and saying you understand why he’s upset. That usually helps with my little girl! I’ll say something like “oh are you upset because you wanted to climb on that but you can’t? It’s too dangerous but let’s climb on this instead” 
That’s helped calm her tantrums a lot

I’d probably consider a light chain with lock and key (metal kind) for under the sink where you keep chemicals. 
I’d do a hotel style door lock on the upper part of the door during his waking hours (you’d have the remember to undue it at night in case of emergency like a fire and you can’t stand up to reach it. 
I’d get a climbing apparatus like the other poster mentioned or a nugget couch. Either would be helpful. 
We also removed excess furniture like chairs because our girls been climbing them so much. No excess stuff. We boxed it all up. Even the toys - we do a rotating toy bin. 4 bins total and rotate them out each week. Excess toys do not help children with creativity. 
Also, he should be starting to do chores like throwing trash away, carrying his plate to the sink, using a towel to mop up spills, moving laundry from washer to dryer - obviously all with help. The more he “helps around the house” the more he is needed and validated. Yea it’ll take X3 times as long to get anything done but it helps. 
Take him out for long walks using a harness (safety first if he’s a runner like my girl!) and go play at the park as much as you can. Get a bicycle. He might have an excess energy problem or be under stimulated and need “more”. 
Also, are you supplementing at all? Some Add/Adhd behaviors and/or hyperactivity can be brought down a pinch with DHA. We use Nordic Naturals Children’s DHA for my hyper girl. Google it, tons of information. We buy it on Amazon and combine it with the Vitamin D drops. 
Also, avoid any artificial dyes, sugar, and salt. Their little bodies need to be regulated and garbage foods do not work well with wild kids. So go more natural/organic as much as you can. It really helps!

That sounds tough! 
I don't have any first hand experience with anything like this, but I would try saying something like 'we don't climb counter tops, if you want to climb, you can climb on X' and redirecting him to something he can actually climb like a climbing frame. 
I'd also take him to the park when he can climb as much as he likes and hopefully get some of pent up energy out. There are some great indoor climbing frames you can get too. Maybe investing in something like these would help.
