Breast sore & why?

So i been having sore and heavy and sensitive boobs for the past 2-3 months. I wake up to them hurting bad. Is this normal because i never had this happen everyday for the past months?

If it’s everyday then it could be pregnancy related, or some hormonal imbalance. 
The only time my breasts have been sore and heavy for months on end was during pregnancy. Otherwise it was just standard soreness from ovulation to AF.
