Blue marker veins??

I've been noticing that all my veins are starting to become super visible !! Like someone drew on them with blue marker! I took a test about a week or so ago and it said not pregnant. I started my period a day later but wasn't like the rest .. Super heavy was was longer then normal. Should I retest or is it all in my head???
