I was 15 when I had sex for the first time with a boy I dated for over a year... I truly loved him and had he not moved I believe we would have likely dated much longer... but then again had he not moved I wouldn't have met my husband... my husband and I dated since we were almost 16 and we had sex several times we dated for several years before he proposed and we got married after 6 1/2 years... it really depends on the person though... I believe I have always been very mature for my age. I was know as Miss Mom to my friends in HS because I kept them out of trouble. I don't regret who I lost my virginity to at all but I do kind of wish I had waited just a bit longer

Here's the thing. You don't wait until you're married (with future thoughts of feeling curious about what could have been with others) and you don't choose an age...
 You decide to have sex when you are READY. But not only you. When HE is ready too. Do NOT have sex with a man you do NOT want to spend the rest of your life with and vice versa. Get past that stage, if you're not your going to "fall in love" with the right person. Giving up your virginity to a just another bf makes really falling in love a complicated thing. Why does it seem like all first loves in high school has the rockiest of relationships and can never last?? Bc they share their virginity to each other and that clings onto them and causes "false love" sort of speak. It's always hard to get away from the one you lost your virginity to if its not a healthy relationship

I was 17 and was actually in love with the boy but I am not still with him now...I think if you use protection (birth control AND condoms) and you really know and love the person you are with then the age does not matter...within reason of course! 17 was right for me. I have no regrets but can't say what might be right for you. ..
