My parents are so strict i cant have a bf til after college lmao

Eh, not to strict but stricter then most other parents I knew. I wasn’t allowed to go to things like concerts, and only on the rare occasion could I spend the night with a friend. Comparably I had friends who’s parents would willingly let them go to parties and be like “be home at a reasonable time and don’t get too drunk” like wtf. That’s the nice thing about turning 18 though, they can’t really control what you do, and if they do you can move out 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s the thing about strict parents, if you don’t like their rules, move out. My parents were strict growing up and we had our fights and our hurts. But I wouldn’t change most of it. Looking back I am thankful for the rules they put into place to try and protect me just a little longer than I otherwise would have been. But if you really can’t stand the rules then work to be self sufficient and move out. Especially if you’re in or going to be in college soon, there’s no reason to fight and completely ruin your relationship with your parents when you could just get your own place. Not saying that’s easy to do, just saying it’s an option and if you want it bad enough then you’ll make it happen.

My parents were super strict... I was homeschooled until grade 11, wasn’t allowed to have a cell phone, they had to vet every person I hung out with, we could only watch certain movies or listen to certain music that was approved by them, no dating till after 18, etc. 
I’m 24 now, married with a child of my own and will absolutely not be parenting the same way... so damaging and controlling.
