Too early to teethe?

Question

My son is about ten weeks and recently started sucking his fists and ￼gnawing on his pacifier rather than sucking it. 
He’s ebf and I’m a first time momma and just unsure what to expect.

Sounds like teething. They can start showing signs early even if the tooth doesn’t come out right away.

It’s not too early, but that’s also just a normal developmental behavior that all baby’s do at that age. For genuine teething, watch for red or swollen gums and the teeth to start appearing under the gum line. It will be pretty distinguishable when he’s teething.

It doesn’t necessarily mean he is actually cutting teeth.  The chewing and slobber will continue for the next 1.5 to 2 years.  Some people consider “cutting a tooth” to be teething and only that.  But the teeth are moving, he’s growing and developing and constant changes are happening.  So, I think the entire process from the start of the first tooth preparing to cut all the way until the last molar cuts is teething.  So it will be going on until he is about 2 years old.

My daughter started showing signs around 3 months and cut her first two teeth at 4 months. I had family tell me it was too soon for to start teething at 3months but they were wrong lol

That is not too early. But just sain, my son has done the same feom around 2/3 months old.. And he is now 7moand I still see no teeth. But he chrws still on everything, puts his hand in mouth, and salivates a lot.

Definitely not really both of my babies started teething around two or so months my son who is five months old already has two teeth and his teething another two which is a bit early compared to my other son who had two teeth at six months
