I totally thought she knew

I got asked to make a cake for my fiancé’s aunts birthday I said yes under the impression that there was no date. The party just so happens to be on the same weekend I have my sisters bachelorette trip. I had a feeling if it was going to be any weekend it’d be then.

I told my fiancé of the trip. We live at his parents and his sister is staying here. His sister is super cautious about covid so I know the trip would be a no go.

Once I found out the party was the same weekend(MIL told me before him) I notified my fiancé and he said we should talk to his mom. We tell her and he was under the impression I told her of the trip when she told me which I didn’t(was honestly scared to tell her because I know how cautious his sister is)

Then just a few minutes ago I heard my MIL tell my SIL “the party is the same weekend (me) is going away” I didn’t want to eves drop so I walked away but they definitely spoke more about it.

I’m spending 2 weeks at my parents after to quarantine and will have 1 dose of the vaccine by the trip.
