Root canal question retreatment

Has anyone had a retreatment done on a root canal? I have a big hole on my top left molar 14. I’m not sure if it’s worth getting a root canal again or just pulling it out or leaving it. I have a tiny infection. It doesn’t bother me but it’s annoying cleaning the hole in the tooth out every time I eat. It’s pretty deep. I never got a crown when I first had it done (my mistake) but I also had a root canal with a crown on my other molar and had to end up having it pulled. So all that money thrown out just to have it pulled. I also hate going to the dentist. Any idea on what I should do? Is it worth paying 4K for a root canal and crown again or should I just pull it and save the hassle? Is it going to break eventually? It’s already chipped a few times. The chip of the tooth was actually stuck in my hole!! I don’t want to have a missing tooth but I don’t want to go through all the stress on fixing this tooth. Ugh . Any advice would be appreciated!
