My Induction!
I came in to be induced 4-16. Started cervidil to thin out my cervix (uncomfortable, not painful). And contractions started. I was on some IV pain meds that made me loopy as all get out and I slept for 24 hours basically. Waited 12 hours and had barely progressed at all. Started a second cervidil, 12 hours later, I was at 5cm. Finally I had the epidural (uncomfortable, not painful at all). And it was HEAVEN FREAKING SENT. Highly recommend. No more pain and I could stay awake and lucid. Then they broke my water and started pitocin and I went from a 5-10 within 2 hours. 🙏🏼
It was time to push. I pushed for two and a half hours. I pushed as hard as I possibly could, and then some. Her head just wouldn’t come down. I knew if I didn’t push her out we would have to have a C-section but my doctor was very patient and not surgery-happy.
I could feel through the epidural and my husband kept pushing the button for me. I could feel extreme pressure and pain down there and the contractions.
I pulled on one end of a towel and the nurse held onto the other end and FINALLY her head came out. I have a second degree tear and I had to be stitched up big time. My husband bawled when he saw me ripped open like that because it scared him 🥺
BUT HEY I have a beautiful perfect baby girl and if I had to do it again I absolutely would!!! She is amazing, everything I ever dreamed of. I’m not trying to scare y’all mamas but if baby is not ready, sometimes an induction can be very difficult. If I ever have another baby I will opt out of being induced.
