Anyone else’s toddler worse with them?

My toddler throws so many tantrums and is so clingy around me, but if I leave him with my husband or anyone else he is so happy just to play and is SO good. 
Anyone else’s toddler just act differently around them?

I know it doesn't help, but it's because you're his safe space. He knows he can show his scary emotions with you, and might be testing the water to see the boundaries. My daughter is the same, and it's a struggle some days but I just remember she needs to let those emotions out.

Omg.. I can totally relate. Anytime I’m around my 1yr old at any point weather we are around my mom, my sister, her dad... she falls out, she screams, she yells, or is just being plane out bad. This is very unusual. I’m exhausted.

From what I understand is it's common for kids to be worse with their moms. They feel safe enough to show you how they really feel I guess. Everyone tells me how perfectly behaved my daughter is but with me she will throw fits and hit or pull hair. It's hard because she feels some time of way but can't explain it so she's acting out

I teach gentle separation classes getting kids ready for preschool (so 1-3 year olds) and they are almost always better in class when their parents leave. It’s an unfair phenomenon but it’s real!
