Was breastfeeding suddenly very painful at 13 weeks pregnant again?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I'm breastfeeding my 18 month old and am suddenly having extremely painful breastfeeding again. It feels like when we first started (SO painful). Generally the worst on the first latch but then it gets less painful through the session. Has anyone else experienced this also? Does it go away eventually or is this my life now?

I did have increased nipple sensitivity during the majority of my pregnancy but it never got unbearable. I breastfed my first until a month before my second and somehow I’m now breastfeeding my second (almost 19 months) and my third (3 weeks old) and it’s a lot in the nipples 😬

Omgggggg I’m dealing with the same thing.  I mostly dried up around 12w and it’s hurt since then!  I’m 17+1 now.  Other women have told me that the pain goes away again once the colostrum comes in and most seem to have it come in around 20 weeks.  So there’s hope 😅

I had pain especially with latching. I stopped nursing around that time. For me, I didn’t want to be nursing two babies at once so we stopped when my son was 15 months to give a number of months between when we stopped nursing and when new baby comes. I know mamas who keep nursing and tandem nurse. Good luck with whatever you decide to do

Yes! I’m 18 weeks now but it started around 13w. We just weaned about 2 weeks ago due to it hurting and I planned to wean before the new baby arrives anyways.

Bummer, was hoping it was short lived! I think I've decided to not tandem feed, it was hard enough (more like painful enough) feeding one 😅. Now we may be weaning sooner rather then later, it so hard to tell him no when he is asking for it though😭. Going to try to go it gently if I can. Thanks for the info all!

I don't remember mine hurting with my second baby. If it did, I think a warm washcloth and gentle massage helped. I think the pain want away and I breastfed my first baby until a month before I gave birth to my second. That month break really gave my body some rest before the new baby came.
