My former fwb claimed to be in love with me. Unfortunately, i didn't share his feelings. But we continued to see each for 4 years. ( During the time he claims to have fallen in love with me we'd been seeing each other a year)
The only reason we stopped seeing each other is because he moved to another state to pursue a better job.

Well, all my friends with benefits fell for me tbh 🙃 and I fell for one of them and gave another a chance. 
The third one was too late- being like "i love you and want to be with you" AFTER I already was in another relationship, which I had told him before agreeing to the other relationship. 
I honestly don't know how it would have gone down if he said that BEFORE. Because he sure as heck didn't seem to care almost the entire time. He was all like: "I love how casual this relationship is." And never called me.  
So yes, men are actually humans and have emotions 🙃
And sex is always emotional, casual or not- you have to realize that before you just get involved in casual relationships & FWB stuff or sex with no commitments. 
I can love someone and know I shouldn't really be with them as partners. But sometimes I do try anyway and hopefully I won't make that mistake again... but most likely I will.

Back in the day, my guy FWB caught feelings before I did. Eventually we both did, but he did first. We never actually labeled it anything. Just rolled with it for as long as it lasted. People knew not to hit me up because "I was his" it was just known to people. We never had the "we're exclusive" talk. Just evolved into that. We had a lot of fun together. Just didn't work out in the long run.
