Iud stuck! Help!

I went to the doctor Monday to have my iud paragard removed because me & my boyfriend are ready to try for another baby. When I get there to get it remove my doctor tried and said it wouldn’t come out that it might be stuck. She pulled one of the strings off trying to take it out.

I instantly started crying because that’s one of my fears. She’s sending me to get an transvaginal done to see exactly what’s going on. Said i might need surgery to remove it. I’m scared, definitely since you have to be put under anesthesia. Just wanted to know if anyone had to have surgery before and if so, how long did it take? How long did you have to wait to start trying for babies? How long do you have to wait for sex? Just pretty much every and anything I need to know.

I had the iud for almost 5 years. She said she thinks one of the arms is stuck in the walls of my uterus.
