Solid Back Cribs?

Question

What’s y’all’s opinion on solid back cribs? My friend brought up a point about possible suffocation but all the articles I’ve read states that as long as you follow safe sleeping practices (no bumpers, blankets or pillows etc) then it’s totally safe but now I’m being super paranoid and can’t decide if I should get one or not? 
Also, best crib brands? I want a 4-in-1 or 6-in-1 convertible bed so I don’t have to keep buying them as my little one gets older. My aunt has had the crib she bought for her son for 13 years now and it’s still in nearly perfect condition, but she can’t remember what brand it was.

I happen to like solid back cribs. Both my daughters had them. I was concerned  with their legs and arms getting caught and with a solid back there was one less aide tonowrry about. Wr had breatheable mesh bumpera on bot cribs never had an issue. They hlep keep arms and legs inside the crin but can come off depending  on how they get put on velcro or by tying them. 
We've had no issues. We got conversion cribs and I love the idea that it can grow with them. And its their bedroom set. I would  recommend  purchasing all the parts need for toddler bed full size bed frame at once, because you might not be anle to find them later.

We got a solid back with our son and will this time too. I know that no bumpers are super highly suggested but we also had those. However, they were super breathable mesh. Our son got his leg stuck in between the slats a time or two and it was not a fun sound to wake up too. Scared the hell out of me and broke my heart all at once. 
We got a 4-1 and love it. One bed and unless something crazy happens to it, we don't have to buy another one until he's a teenager. We got it in a neutral color so it would match any decor from birth until he can decorate himself. The ONLY thing that sucks is that the other pieces to it are expensive. It was $100 just for the toddler bed rail and its half the length and a third of the height of the front piece 🙄 I would put those pieces on your registry! Either for the discount or a gift. We didn't and I do regret that slightly lol.

Love the solid back. One less side to get stuck on and the back is the hardest to dislodge lol

Solid back cribs do not have any risks.  Even the “breathable” mesh bumpers are considered a hazard though and babies have died with them in the crib so skip those, especially if you do a solid back where they cannot be secured to it.
