35&5 dr appt??? What to expect

I have an ultrasound scheduled for when I’m 35&5 to see if she’s going to be to big and I need to be induced at 39 weeks. What else would they do at this appointment?

I had a growth scan at 35 weeks and they told me our baby was estimated to be 7lbs and estimated to be around 11-12lbs at birth. My Best Friend had a growth scan at 35 weeks and they told her the same thing (scared her into induction) and I have 3 other friends that had the same experience. All of them had babies less than 8lbs and carried full term (38-40+ weeks)
My doctor said I should be induced at 39 weeks since there's no point to go to 40 and who wants to risk having that big of a baby...🙄 
my husband and I declined the thought of induction. There are way smaller women out there having big babies (I'm 209lbs and pretty curvey) and I personally do not want to induce any unnecessary stress on my baby. We are both perfectly healthy according to the scan, so telling me I "might have a big baby" is not enough evidence to force me into giving birth any sooner than when our baby is ready. Until we have been presented evidence that me and/or our baby is no longer healthy, I am doing this as natural and as long as possible!

They will give you a growth ultrasound and check size. After done, they take the average of measurements and let you know predicted size of baby and discuss options from there. I also got a strep b swab which was super easy!

Group B strep swab is usually done at 36 weeks so maybe that? I doubt they will check your cervix this early unless you’re having symptoms of labor.

In Europe, doctor would also take 2 samples from your vagina and rectum to check for streptoccoccus B and prescribe the final blood test. They also checked my cervix to assess dilation.

I would assume they’ll just see how big baby is and check to make sure you have enough fluid in there (they can see that on the ultrasound) unless there are other circumstances!
