Advice

Can someone give me advice...

I have a nearly 1 year old cat which we love soooo much but unfortunately I think I’m needing to give him a new home. We live in a flat which he can’t go outside and explore as we can’t keep looking outside the window to see if he’s there and we can tell he wants to soooo bad as he’s constantly at the window scratching at it. His behaviour is becoming quite agitated sometimes as he’s broken/ripped up a few things around the house so I think hes doing this as he wants to go out and explore. Sometimes it’s like he doesn’t like me and my partner and becomes aggressive and sometimes even hisses at us/other people (we have never treated him badly in anyway) so I simply think it’s because he’s bored in the house as he’s only allowed in like 4 rooms due to me having a 2 month old baby.

I can’t help but feel so guilty and upset about having the thought of giving him a new home but I don’t think it’s fair on him at all and I want him to have the best life possible.

We’ve tried everything, toys, neutered, plug in sprays nothing works

I just need some advice :(

Okay - awesome. Do you have any cat trees for him to play in and on? Definitely recommend a variety of cat toys to enrich him and catnip can be fun for them too! It’ll get him hyped up ready to play and then he will mellow out! We also take our boy outside on a harness and leash - it really helps with his itch to explore outside but he only gets to go outside on our terms and with the leash and harness. We’ve been training him since he was 8 months though - it’s much easier to do when they’re kittens!

He sounds bored. Get him toys, play with him, get those tall trees, scratching posts. Feliway works well. It's much safer for cats to stay insidr

I second the feliway! And I agree, it's much safer to have indoor cats.
