Nauseated and vomiting around period?

I was at work, when all of a sudden I felt like I was going to throw up! I excused myself and dry heaved 6 times and felt gross. 2days later I started my period (as expected). Sometimes I get sick and vomit during my period an the pain is unbearable. Anybody else? My gnyco said only way to fix it is to go on BC which I've tried and don't like,and gave me a higher dose Tylenol...Also I'm 23 & not sexually active.
