Thank you notes for baby gifts?
I’ve always been a bit anti thank you note. I don’t expect to receive them from others and if someone’s just had a baby I don’t want them to feel like my gift comes with a little chore for them to do afterwards in the form of sending me a note.
Now I’ve had a baby and I don’t know what to do about thank you notes. We wrote them to everyone at our wedding but we weren’t sleep deprived then. I know most of my generation of friends don’t care but older relatives might.
Also apposed to it because I think it falls into the category of invisible women’s work. One more think women have to do that men don’t help with. All the guys I’ve spoken with think thank you notes are stupid and think women “like them”.
And most people I’ve spoken with just say they send a thank you text now days.
What are everyone’s thoughts?
