Mosaic embryo
I wanted to share my story this far in the event someone else is ever in the same situation. I was just too much shy of 40 when we had our egg retrieval. We ended up with four eggs that were PGS tested. Two were abnormal, one was a mosaic low level with an observation -y, and one normal embryo. Two months later we attempted transfer with the normal embryo. It was unsuccessful and never implanted. We thought that was our only chance. 18 months later I received a bill for embryo storage. I was completely shocked and surprised. I had a consult with a geneticist who explained our mosaic baby boy low-level results. Basically they take about five cells and one to two of those cells was missing a y however the rest had both x and y and were normal. Studies have shown that no live birth have ended in mosaicism with a known embryo. There is a higher chance of miscarriage but there is a 35 to 40% chance that the embryo will implant and be a normal baby boy. We have asked our doctor to transfer and he is currently reviewing our case with a geneticist as well to ensure this is the best decision. Wish us luck 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏🙏
