Gift for big sibling?

Question

I have read in several places that it can be a good idea to give the older sibling(s) a gift from the newborn. Did anyone do this and if so what did you get? My daughter will be 21 months when my son is born.

I will be. My daughter loves poopsie toys n one big one is 70$ so i refuse to buy it for her lol but we thought after waiting this long for one that it would be extra soecial from the baby

My due date is just days away from my toddlers 3rd bday, so we are doing her bday party two weeks ahead to make sure she still has a special day. So since she'll have just gotten a bunch of new presents, we aren't doing anything big for when the baby comes home, but I will get her a toddler backpack that matches my diaper bag so she can carry her own stuff

My son was also 21 months when his brother was born. I got him a baby doll because he wanted one and was excited about the baby. 
He was 3 and my middle one was 21 months old when I had my third baby. My 3 y/o son asked for a baby doll again, so I got him a set of b/g twin baby dolls. My middle one wouldn't like a baby doll so he got a 300 piece set of Prextex blocks that are similar to legos.

We did. Eldest was almost 3 when baby arrived he loves lion king especially pumba so that’s what baby brought with him 🤣 we didn’t get lots of baby gifts with being in lockdown but those who did got him a little something too. Personally I always get a token for an older sibling when friends /family have a baby it’s an overwhelming time for them xx

We got him a baby doll a couple months before our daughter was born. But we didn’t get him anything when we came home. Some of our friends and family who brought us gifts for the new baby did bring our son something, which was really nice. One friend got him this plane with a screwdriver that he can take apart and put back together. It kept him occupied with independent play, which was amazing. He also got a travel sized magnedoodle and that was awesome too because it’s something he enjoys by himself.
