Differing views with mother in law . Help!!
I’m not looking for thoughts on vaccinations just advice! My husband & I have been raised differently. His mom did all things natural at home births. never believed in using medicine . My family is completely opposite. Before trying to have kids- my husband got on the same page as me. We will vaccinate our kids ( ones we feel confident/ educated about) && I just told him upfront I would not be doing a home birth like his mom. I’m not speaking bad about not vaccinating/ home births! It’s just not something I agree with or want to do. With that being said, being pregnant with our first has brought up a lot of questions . I’ve always had it in my head- visitors with my newborn needed to be update with shots. Mostly in the first few weeks bc baby is so little and fragile. We are expecting right in the middle of flu season. I’m not comfortable thinking about my extended family holding my baby right after birth. Is it wrong of me , not to let people hold my baby as a new born until after flu season?! ( I work at a pediatric office- my coworkers are adamant saying, I should not feel obligated to do anything when protecting my baby. Has anyone dealt with this before ??
