Glass healed in foot

Hi so, I need some advice please. I feel bad enough for my own self but anyway a couple years ago I had a piece of glass stuck in my foot. Well eventually my foot got used to it I’m guessing anyways here I am a few years later. I go get new shoes walk around and all of a sudden the piece of glass is stabbing my foot. I went to the urgent care and since she said she can’t make an incision because there’s no evidence and I had to do an X-ray. I just said no, even though I should’ve tried. Anyway she couldn’t help me so I have made an appointment with my primary doctor but I think I should see a podiatrist. I’m just scared because it could be infected for all I know and it’s just miserable to deal with.
