Chemical pregnancy and ttc

I had a chemical pregnancy 2 weeks ago at 5 weeks. I bled for 7 days. The doctor said we can start ttc again after my next period. A friend went through the same thing and was told they can start immediately. Obviously I want to listen to my doctor just wondering if anyone has any insight into this?
