Would you get the Covid vaccine if you were in my shoes?

I’m traveling to Hawaii in July and my OB recommends me getting it before then. If I weren’t pregnant I would’ve already gotten it... 
Thoughts?

Please don’t travel to Hawaii 😭 locals (indigenous Hawaiians) have been speaking out about this since the pandemic hit. They don’t have the resources medically etc. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, but I am that person. 
Also, you would need negative COVID test results one to two days prior to traveling their, or you will be in quarantine for 10+ days. This goes for vaccinated people as well.

Last I heard, you need proof of vaccination before you can travel to Hawaii. My brother lives there and they are not letting anyone go to the island that are not protected.

I'd absolutely want to protect myself, my baby/ies, my family and everyone around me and considering the fact that I'd be traveling, I'd want it even more so, so yes.

I personally got vaccinated. Majority of my family works in different areas of the healthcare field and have seen a lot of things during the pandemic. Pregnant women are considered immune compromised, even before a global pandemic hit, and are at increased risk of hospitalization, needing a ventilator and even death. We have lost a few pregnant women in my state due to Covid whose only medical issue at the time of infection was being pregnant. It is not worth the risk!

FYI if this helps your situation. Hawaii is SUPER strict on their COVID test and testing before coming into the states. Their  cases for today are 119 and have been a lot lower than that. So if it were me just going to hawaii no I wouldn’t but that’s me. You and your body are different

Going to Hawaii in May, just got my second dose. I feel so much less stress traveling knowing I’m as protected as possible and my little guy will likely be born with some antibodies! 
No side effects, besides sleepiness (but I’m used to that by now). My hubby got it too.
