When to get first hair cut!

Okay this is a terrible picture but im trying to show how wild it gets! Lol I had hair just like this but mine obviously grew with me. Some days his curls are absolutely perfect and I would never want to cut them. Most days his hair is like this! It looks as if I brushed them out but didn’t. Lol I don’t know if I should just trim it a little to contain it or just let it flow. I also don’t want to cut it and then never see the curls again! I bought some detangle spray because he gets little knots and snarls in it already. 
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I’m not in a hurry to do anything about it immediately but I know it’s looking a little crazy lol

I say it’s up to you!  My son had curls and at 7m we let MIL cut his hair (worst decision) and she butchered his hair and his curls never came 
back. His hair grew back straight and looked like he had a wig so we just recently cut it and I think he looks cute even tho I still miss the curls

My son also has curly hair, especially on the back of the head. I’m also wondering if I should take him for a haircut, but it’s so freaking cute... 😍😅

My son is the same, I’ve noticed with his curls his hair was always super dry and frizzy to the point he would get knots. After a little research we no longer wash his hair with shampoo (the “no poo” method). Instead twice a week we wash his hair with a conditioner only, let it sit for a few mins then rinse. Then after the bath we follow it with a leave in conditioner that has an extra protein shot for added moisture which we comb through with a wide tooth comb- never a brush. Have seen an immense improvement in the texture of his hair, and haven’t had any issues with knots or frizziness but still may have to trim the hair over his ears because its so long he looks clown crazy haha

his hair is growing so it doesn’t need anything done to it really. just let it go, you can of course get it cut or trimmed if you desire. personally i wouldn’t. my daughters hair is the same way. she is mixed with white/black so she has very soft textured hair but it’s super curly and kinky. i stopped using the dove baby soap all in one in her hair and bought frobabies shampoo and conditioner.  you can look it up online frobabieshair.com. they have dry angler and stuff as well. it’s made with avocado and honey. it has helped her hair tremendously i truly can tell the difference with her hair. her curls still tend to look like they got brushed out (even tho i didn’t lol) it isn’t nearly as bad.
