She couldn't find my uterus...would you go back?
I wasn't thrilled with the care I was getting at my original OB office so I decided to shop around and another office was able to get me in yesterday to establish care and do an in office ultrasound.
So I went and the new doctor was asking me why I wanted to switch care and I told her that I'm really anxious and I need a lot of reassurance and I didn't feel like I was getting that at my other OB. She said she completely understood and wanted to give me exactly what I needed.
Then she goes to do a vaginal ultrasound and tells me SHE CAN'T FIND MY UTERUS! She asked me if I had any bleeding, I said no. I am 9 weeks and had my pregnancy confirmed by abdominal ultrasound a week ago so I know my uterus is in there...so she does an abdominal scan and finds my uterus and baby immediately. I hear the heartbeat, 160ish...perfect. but then she tries to measure the baby, without zooming in at all, and she measures it a week behind schedule and tells me it's just because the portable machines aren't as good and I need to go to a radiology facility. She told me not to worry...yeah right 🙄
She said my uterus was already over my public bone and that's why she couldn't see it vaginally?? This is my second pregnancy but I thought it was still too early for that.
She wanted me to get another ultrasound in 2 weeks but I'm scheduled for tomorrow because I am too anxious to wait 2 weeks to know that my baby didn't stop growing a week ago and I honestly don't know if I'm going to go back to that office. Would you?
(I still have my 12 week appointment scheduled with my original OB so I might just keep that)
