Obgyn first visit

Hi ladies,

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had my first visit at the doctor. Per the policy of the clinic I only saw nurse practitioner today and they said even for week 8 visit.

They mentioned I will see obgyn on my week 8 visits onwards.

Is this common to not see obgyn for so long?
