Clomid and Ultrasounds?

I just finished my first round of Clomid (50mg) a couple days ago CD 5-9, currently CD 13.  I've read from many that their doctor has them come in for an ultrasound to verify ovulation in the middle of the cycle.  If my doctor isn't having me do this, should I be concerned and think about finding a new provider? 
I had a pelvic ultrasound and blood work about 5 months ago to verify everything was good in there and that my levels were good, but that was it.  She gave me instructions for 4 rounds of Clomid (50mg), and to come back in when I was either pregnant or if the 4 cycles didn't work... 
Also, when I got my pelvic ultrasound, I had to go to a 3rd party imaging center, since they couldn't do it at my OBGYN. Is this normal?

If you doing the medication all that is needed is a progesterone check to see if the medication is doing it’s job and making you ovulate. Nothing else needs to be done as far as monitoring. What your talking about is a “follicle check” usually those are only done if your doing IUI or something. You should be having 7 dpo progesterone check to see if it’s working or if dosage needs to be adjusted.

If you want closer monitoring, I would go to a reproductive endocrinologist instead of an ob/gyn.

My OB did the same as yours, but I got pregnant after the first dose. I wouldn’t worry. Follow her instructions and go from there as she said.

These medications can be taken with or without monitoring. My first month (I took letrozole rather than clomid) I got a blood test to check for ovulation. It was good to know it was actually working. My doctor didn’t do anything the next month, but I ended up getting pregnant. Good luck with everything.
