Was a c-section recovery more painful if you were in labor at the time of the c-section (like an emergency)?

I was curious if a c-section recovery was more painful if got one while in labor? I had one while in labor and recovery was no cake walk for me. I'm considering my birth options for a my second baby right and a planned c-section is an option.

I’m doing a planned as I was concerned with needing an emergency and have read many accounts that planned is much easier and less stress than the emergency ones.

I had an emergency c-section after laboring a while. Water broke early morning and I went to the hospital about 12 hours later when contractions were getting closer together. Discovered when admitted that my baby was breech. I think I was around 4cm dilation when decison to do section was made, shortly after getting to the hospital. I can't give advice on planned sections, but my emergency one had a slow, painful recovery. It took everything I had to stand up and move those first days, and a long time to recover at home. Surgery itself was easy. Was my first child, so that may have played into things.

My first was an emergency section after being induced and in the hospital for 28 hrs ... felt like it took me weeks to get make to normal activity (aka sitting/standing/walking upstairs ) . 
Second was a scheduled csection . Aside from night 2 which caught me off guard and was painful, recovery was so much easier. By the time I went home I was able to move around pretty easily

For me, they were about the same. My first was scheduled and my second i labored for over 30hours. And honestly I don’t think either was more painful than the other. And they both took about the same amount time to recover from.

Recovery after my scheduled c-section was way better/faster than my recovery after an unplanned c-section + 36 hours of active labor.

Recovery was about the same for my emergency and my planned csection but the pain was ridiculously more painful during my emergency csection and my planned csection was a walk in the oark

I think it depends on the person. I had an emergency csection after laboring and my recovery was fine. I was up and moving right after like normal.
