Anyone else’s 2 year old hit and laugh?

How do you respond?

Redirect. “Oh no! That hurts my body. Do you need to hit something? I have this pillow you can hit instead.” And model how to punch the pillow. 
Or just completely ignore, and switch the attention to another toy or book

I redirect.  I say “our hands are for clapping or patting gently or hugging. Can you clap your hands for mommy?”

Tell him no and move away from him so he can’t do it again.

Straight to time out if they don't respond to scolding ( if they think it's funny)  then no talking to them just Straight to time out. Then explain why they were there

Yeah then goes to timeout because we don’t hit or hurt people
