Why do people not post their babies faces

Question

I see so many pics of babies faces blurred out or hidden or they will only post the back of their heads and I saw a post about it on here but no one stated why they’re choosing to do that other than “personal preference”. Can anyone share their reasons behind it please!!

Because I don’t want my child online until they are older and it’s their choice 
Also don’t want psychos or paedophiles stealing pictures or their face (this happened to my nephew)

We will not be posting pictures of our baby on any online platform.  They are easily used and shared amongst people, and especially are a target for people who want to commit child sex offences, no matter how safe you think your privacy settings are. 
Also, if we are that close to someone then you’ll be able to message me privately and ask for a photo and I’ll happily oblige if it’s appropriate but otherwise people don’t need to have photos of our child.  
Finally, I feel sorry for children who have had their every embarrassing moment documented online for everyone to see, they get to choose what the world sees of them when they are old enough.

Im estranged from my family so we don’t really post. My dad is a very hated man and I grew up with ppl threatening to hurt/kill me to get at him. I don’t need his disrespect ass posting pics he found of my kid like she is a part of his life for people that hate him to target her.

I’m not on social media anymore and haven’t been for a couple of years. I found it to be more trouble than it’s worth. I’ve asked that if anyone is going to post a picture of my kid that they get our permission first. We maintain a family SnapChat and I share little videos and pictures there. They can grab screenshots if they want to. I felt that people don’t need to know what I or my family is doing all the time. I don’t really care that my friends from high school haven’t seen my child because I haven’t seen them in over 10 years. If I saw them in person at the grocery store or something, I would be happy to show them a picture. I share pictures of my girl when I feel comfortable doing so. I have shared a few on this app in her birth group and in the preemie support group but that’s all. I felt it was a safe space to do so. Anyways, I think people have lots of reasons for not wanting to post pictures online and they are all valid. If you feel comfortable posting pics, go for it! No hate! Do you!

Me and my husband don’t post ourselves and we won’t be posting our baby either.
Not everybody believe in evil eye, but we do (religious), so we don’t want to give people a bigger opportunity to “eye” our baby 🤍

There are unfortunately a lot of creeps and predators out there. I'm not sure why you'd post a pic and then blur the face, but we very very rarely ever post pics of our kids on social media.
