5 Week Miscarriage

WARNING: Lots of TMI pictures

I’m almost 100% certain I’m miscarrying and it’s been so hard finding any resources and even a doctor to help.

Saturday 5/1/21 I was at work and had light cramping which I figured was totally normal. Later that night my boyfriend and I had sex and I noticed the tiniest bit of pink spotting. I did some reading and that can be normal after sex.

Sunday 5/2/21 woke up with heavier pink spotting. My mom and sister both told me it’s totally normal and I went to work. At work it went from pink

to a bright red and there was what looked like a blood clot/tissue (at the bottom)

I began cramping more and bleeding more consistent. I left work and went to the Urgent Care but they told me there was nothing they could do. I went home to rest and got more cramps and passed more tissue/clots.

I was also researching and read about ectopic pregnancies and SCH - subchorionic hematoma/hemorrhage.

5/3/21 Called my OBGYN right as they opened the MA said there was no way they could squeeze me in. I called my previous OBGYN (who was an hour from my house) and they were unsure if they could get me in so they left an urgent note and said they’d call me back. I hung up and drove straight to urgent care. While at the office my OBGYN called back and said they couldn’t get me in.

The urgent care doctor before asking any questions about what I had passed or doing an examine told me I’m more than likely having a miscarriage.

Twins run in my family, I lost my identical twin boys in July 2020 but it was a missed miscarriage and I had to have a D&E so I’ve never had a natural miscarriage.

I asked the dr. for an ultrasound and she goes why. *Side note my mom was pregnant and had a miscarriage only to find out that she was still pregnant with me but lost my fraternal twin.* The dr. wont give me an ultrasound until she hears back from an OB so we’re waiting on that. The dr. also didn’t want me to do blood draws for my HCG - that’s how I confirmed my miscarriage last time so I pushed really hard and she ordered them.

I’m waiting on my blood results from today and have my second draw on 5/5/21. I’ll post my results as soon as they come in.

I just wanted to make this post for anyone who is going through the same situation so that they can compare pictures; I know that I wasn’t having any luck when I was searching.

I usually have a very light period and very light cramping. This cramping has been a bit more painful than a period but not unbearable. My flow has been similar and at times a little heavier but not excessive. There also hasn’t been much tissue/clots - just what you see in the pictures.

**UPDATE** : I was right, it is a miscarriage. My blood results from 5/3/21 just came back at 10.9 which is extremely low so there’s no need to do another blood draw.
