Catholic school?
Okay ladies.. my HD and I are at odds over this. We found out that we have a really great private school in our town, it has like a 97% college attending rate for its students and it always winning some type of academic awards. However, it’s a catholic school. Me being an Atheist and my HD being Christian(ish), we can’t seem to decide if we want start our boys in their Pre-K program.
Our school district program, if giving us issues regarding their private pay ($625) and full day (8-3pm) vs part time (8-10am). They want us to do the part time program which will be a hassle to organize pick up (I work out of town and my SO works nights), so we’ll have to find a day care that will pick them up and watch them until my HD wakes up. Due to all of this, we started to look for other options.
We found a preschool that’s nothing to brag about and standard that will be from 8am until dad picks them or 5:30pm, for $1400. Personally, it felt more like a daycare than a preschool.
The private Catholic school that would be from 7:30-5:30 (unless Dad decided to pick them up early). We would be paying around $1000. It’s a small class size (actual classroom) and the school is known for getting kids ahead. But my only issue with it, my boys would have to attend daily prayer groups every morning, I didn’t want to introduce religion to my kids at all until they are old enough to make that choice on their own. Literally this school would be perfect if it wasn’t for the prayer group...
So should I suck up the fact that I don’t like religion, for my boys to get the best start for academically?
