Might be on my period when I see my boyfriend!!!!

So I’m going to go visit my boyfriend in a month because he’s a marine and he’s stationed in San Diego which is 7 hours from me. I am currently on my period right now and I have nexplanon and my periods have been irregular or very light. Last month I didn’t get a period at all but this month my period seems longer and heavy. I am worried that next month comes around and when I see him it’ll be the same as this month and I definitely don’t want to be on it 😭 Any advice? He doesn’t mind having period sex but I don’t want our first time to be like that.
