Baby shower for 2nd baby?

So back story. I have a 7 year old son from a previous relationship. I have since gotten married to someone else and we are pregnant with another boy. Yay!

My mom told me she was throwing a baby shower for us and wanted to know if we were okay doing it in our back yard (we have a huge gorgeous backyard that we actually got married in because of covid) so okay fine.

My cousin and I are talking and she flat out called me trashy for having a second baby shower and I was hurt because it’s not like my 1st son is 2 years old. I have none of his baby stuff anymore and my husband and I have already bought the “big” things (crib, swing and travel system) so I mean the only “big” thing we still want is a bassinet really. On top of it I didn’t ask for this and hadn’t really given it much thought.

But anyways is this “trashy” or is my cousin just being a bitch?
