EBF Moms- Breast Refill Pain?
Hi mommas! I am having a hard time.
I EBF our 9 month old, he is eating lots of solids now so I would say I am nursing less now.
My left side has always been my “lazy side”
For the last couple weeks I have had “breast refill pain” on my left side.
About 30-45 min after I am done nursing I get prickly, electric shock, stabbing shooting pains in my left breast. It starts kind of weak and builds into almost excruciating pain and then goes back down again. If I get down on all 4s so my chest is low to the ground the pain gets more bearable. But if I stand up again it is awful.
It does not hurt when I’m nursing, it does not hurt when my breasts are full, it doesn’t hurt any other time than while they are refilling. And it doesn’t hurt when I nurse in the right side, only the left. And this is new, he is 9 months old and it is happening now. I went to the Dr and was checked for thrush and mastitis and I do not have those, nor any clogged ducts.
To help I can take Advil, get down on all 4s low to the ground, shake/jump vigorously, or a hot shower with the shower head on strong will help alleviate the pain, but massage, hot pad, rice pad in bra do absolutely nothing.
Anyone else? Or is it just me?
