Does your 2 year old sleep through the night?

I’m really curious as to why my 2 year old is waking up in the middle of the night wide awake and ready to have a conversation and get out of bed at least five out of seven nights. He does still nap every day for usually about two hours, but I feel like if he doesn’t he can’t keep himself together for the rest of the day. Anyone else having this problem??

It is super super normal for a 2 year old to wake through the night. Hell, I wake up at night for lots of different reasons.

He was the worst sleeper as a baby, up every hour for 6 months. But now he sleeps from 8pm - 9 am. 
I actually put a crib toy in there several months ago (pictured, from my childhood) and if he wakes up I’ll hear him playing with it in the dark and it keeps him from calling for us unless he actually needs something. Maybe you could try something like that if your child is still in a crib.

Our girl sleeps from about 8pm-7am usually.

A month ago I would have said yes.
At the moment, not even close.
I'm assuming it changes as she goes through new stages of development as she did when she was a baby 😊
