One year ago today, my husband and I found out that our little coconut...which is what we called the baby before birth...was on the way. The pregnancy and birth experience was not how I imagined my first pregnancy would be due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The altered experience included going to doctor's appointments alone, having a virtual baby shower, and not being able to also have my mom in the delivery room. Our little coconut was born on January 20th and as we kept the gender a surprise, we were excited to finally find out we had a baby boy. We then began the journey of parenthood and all the ups and downs that come along with it. Some challenges were expected while others were not. However, as we prepare to celebrate my first mother's day, we are so thankful to have this sweet, silly baby boy in our lives and knew we were going to be so blessed in the most life changing way once we saw that BFP one year ago today ❤
