Spotting or light light period ??

Okay I’ve had nexplanon in for only 1 year now, and my question is exactly would be could my late cycle be my period if I’m only spotting if that makes sense. When I wipe its pinkish blood on the toilet paper, and if I wear a panty liner it’s not much much blood on it but the blood is darker on the panty liner almost brownish in color. And I’m confused on if this is an period or spotting ... I been late 7/8 days now and this been happening since the day I was supposed to start my period. So it’s been happening 7/8 days now. I had unprotected sex on April 16th & May 4th but I got my period in April so I’m confused. If nexplanon can cause this? Or if this sounds common for nexplanon. Another thing I can still feel my implant in my arm btw.
