Transfer 2? Advice or experience for next round

I unfortunately had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks after my FET. Beta was rising great and a yolk sac was seen at 5 weeks and then about a week ago I started cramping horribly and bleeding. I passed most everything naturally but did have retained tissue so had to take some medications to pass that. I should’ve been 7 1/2 weeks. Our  embryos are not genetic tested. We transferred one AA embryo. Was it a genetic issue? I am just not sure. I’m considering transferring 2 the next transfer but wanted input from others who’ve been in my shoes. Would you try 1 again or do 2? We have several.,, 5 more frozen on day 5 that are 3AA and 3AB and also have 4 frozen on day 6 that are 4AB and more 3AA and I believe a poor one 3bc. 10 all together. I just don’t know. What would you do?

I posted a similar question a few weeks ago... in February we transferred a 5AA embryo. Miscarried about 6weeks. Didn’t have tested and dr said it was most likely genetically abnormal. I’ve had 2 ectopics and now 2 miscarriages. This transfer was kind of a battle because I’ve wanted 2 transferred and RE said national guidelines recommend 1 with my age. I spoke with my OB that I work closely with as he said that he feels safe with transferring 2 and if they end up developing into 3 or 4 we can cross that bridge when we get there. Had my appt today for labs and ultrasound. For sure we will be transferring a 5BA and it sounds like a 4AA. They said it’s hard to choose because the 8 embryos we have left are all close. When they transfer 2 the nurse said they try to pick a really strong one and then a not so strong one. Good luck! Feel free to message me if you want!

Someone else asked this question last week or the week before. I initially had wrote I wouldn’t do two, but that was me thinking selfishly how I couldn’t imagine 2 babies after my first ivf transfer resulting in my son. That wasn’t fair of me to think like that. In your scenario, I would consider two.

What does your dr say about next cycle? Are they changing any of your protocol? Personally, if I had that many embryos, I would probably transfer 1 with a change in protocol before moving to 2. But its really up to you. I've only transferred 2 at a time, but my embryos are all poor quality so there wasn't much hope we'd get any to stick.

We also miscarried our first and second transfer and this last round we’re transferring two embryos, first transfer had a small gestational sac so we were told chances of miscarriage were high, we attempted to send off for testing but came back inconclusive(our embryos are not tested due to age), because first try worked we kept same medication, second transfer made it to 6 weeks with a gestational sac and yolk sac and it stopped developing this time I miscarried naturally at home so we sent it off for testing again and baby was perfectly normal.... we don’t know what caused the first miscarriage but we do know I’m producing “normal embryos” this last round we’re adding our last two embryos and Intralipid infusion in case my body is attacking pregnancy... like my doctor said our goal is not to get you pregnant with twins, goal is at least one make it to term, our chances of twins are high but it’s worth it vs going through another two transfer cycles it gets overwhelming and expensive, if they both stick I’ll be happy regardless 😊
